Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The zip is created entirely in your browser, on your own device — your files never leave your computer or phone, are never uploaded, and nothing is stored or seen by us.

Can I add whole folders, not just individual files?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Drop or browse to as many files as you like, or click “Add a folder” to include an entire folder — its structure (subfolders and all) is preserved exactly inside the zip. You can keep adding more before you create the archive.

Why is my zip barely smaller than the original files?

Accepted Answer

Because some files are already compressed. Photos (JPG), videos (MP4), music (MP3) and PDFs are already packed tightly, so zipping can’t shrink them much — you’ll see the saving is near zero, and that’s normal. The real win there is bundling many files into one tidy download. Text, documents, code and uncompressed data, on the other hand, often shrink a lot. We show the exact before/after size so there are no surprises.

Is there a limit on how many or how large the files can be?

Accepted Answer

No fixed limit. Because everything runs locally, you’re only bound by your device’s memory. Very large sets (we flag anything over 500 MB) take longer and use more memory, but typical batches zip in a moment.

Can I name the zip file?

Accepted Answer

Yes — set any name before you download, and we add the .zip for you. The default is simply “archive.zip”.
